Vuelve el directo de Maná

05/02/08. Más de
dos millones de espectadores han podido disfrutar
de Maná en concierto con la gira “Amar
es combatir”, desde que esta comenzara en febrero
de 2007. Ahora, los fans que no pudieron ver a Maná
en vivo, pueden participar en esta experiencia con
el nuevo CD/DVD de temas en directo “Arde el
cielo”.
El concierto fue grabado durante las cuatro noches
que Maná estuvo actuando en el Coliseo José
Miguel Agrelot de Puerto Rico. “Arde el cielo”
también incluye los nuevos sencillos de la
banda “Si no te hubieras ido” (versión
del tema de Marco Antonio Solis) y “Arde el
cielo”.
“Escogimos grabar en Puerto Rico porque se vendieron
las cuatro noches y quisimos capturar la emoción
de las cuatro noches”, dijo el vocalista de
Maná, Fher, durante una conferencia de prensa
en Beverly Hills para anunciar el lanzamiento del
CD/DVD. “Teníamos mucha tela de donde
cortar para grabar el álbum. Fuimos escogiendo
la mejor versión de cada noche”.
“Solo llevábamos un mes de gira y era
la primer ciudad donde se habían vendido cuatro
noches, para nosotros fue un momento de ‘dios
mío’”, añadió Alex,
baterista de Maná.
La gira ha llevado a Maná por todo Estados
Unidos, México, España, Centroamérica
y Sudamérica. La banda se ha ganado el premio
a la “Gira del año” por su tour
en España, donde la banda se presentó
ante más de 400,000 fans. El disco “Amar
es combatir” también ganó más
de 50 premios para la banda en países alrededor
de todo el mundo.
“Cada ciudad tiene su magia, lo más importante
es la interacción con la gente”, dijo
el guitarrista Sergio.
Después de ganar todos estos reconocimientos
con un solo disco, uno solo puede preguntar “¿qué
sigue para Maná?”
“Siempre queremos continuar creciendo. Cuando
estamos trabajando en un proyecto, siempre nos preguntamos
si hay una manera mejor de hacerlo”, comentó
Alex. “Somos un grupo de profesionales y estamos
bien dedicados a lo que hacemos”.
La gira no termina hasta finales de mayo, pero Alex
dijo que la banda comenzará componiendo para
el próximo álbum que se lanzará
en 2009.
Aparte de la gira, Maná continúa trabajando
con su Fundación Selva Negra. Actualmente la
fundación está tratando de incorporar
la ecología en las escuelas mexicanas y latinoamericanas.
Fher expresó la importancia de la necesidad
de una reforma migratoria diciendo que “es urgente
que se le dé toda la dignidad a los latinos
que trabajan y por lo bueno que han hecho en este
país”. Añadió que hay millones
de latinos que trabajan arduamente pero que necesitan
legalizar su estatus en Estados Unidos.

2 million fans have experienced Maná
in concert through the “Amar es
combatir” tour since the tour started
in February 2007, now fans who weren’t
able to see Maná live can share
in the experience with the group’s
new live CD/DVD, “Arde el cielo.”
The concert was recorded throughout the
four nights that Maná performed
at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in
Puerto Rico. “Arde el cielo”
also includes the bands new singles “Si
no te hubieras ido” (a Marco Antonio
Solis cover) and “Arde el cielo.”
“We picked Puerto Rico to record
because we had four sold out shows and
we wanted to capture the excitement of
the four nights,” said Maná’s
lead singer Fher during a press conference
in Beverly Hills to announce the release
of the CD/DVD. “We had a lot of
material to choose from to record the
album. We chose the best version of each
night.”
“We had only been on tour for a
month and it was the first city where
we had four sold out shows, for us it
was an ‘oh my god’ moment,”
added Alex, drummer for Maná.
“We had a lot to choose from to
record the album.
The tour has taken Maná all over
the United States, Mexico, Spain, Central
America and South America. The tour has
earned the band the “Tour of the
Year” award for their tour in Spain,
where the band performed for more than
400,000 fans. The album “Amar es
combatir” has also earned Maná
more than 50 awards in countries all around
the world.
“Each city has its own magic, the
most important thing is the interacting
with the people,” said guitarist
Sergio.
After earning all this recognition from
just one album, one can only ask “what
is next for Maná?”
“We always want to continue growing.
Whenever we are working on a project,
we always ask ourselves if there is a
better way,” commented Alex. “We
are a group of professionals and we are
very dedicated to what we do.”
The tour does not finish until the end
of May, but Alex said that the band will
begin composing their next album, which
will be released in 2009.
Aside from touring, Maná continues
to work with its foundation Fundación
Selva Negra. The foundation is currently
trying to incorporate ecology into Mexican
and Latin American schools.
Fher expressed the importance of the need
for immigration reform stating that “it
is urgent for working Latinos to be treated
with dignity especially for all the good
they do for this country.” He added
that there are millions of Latinos who
work hard, but need to legalize their
status in the United States.
