Para McConaughey y Hudson el género de la comedia romántica parece ser su fuerte, y lo hacen bien. En esta ocasión interpretan a un matrimonio que se dedica a la búsqueda de tesoros hundidos en el fondo del mar procedentes de naufragios. Justo cuando acaban de divorciarse, encuentran importantes indicios de lo que puede ser el pecio más lleno de riquezas de cuantos buscaron hasta la fecha. Les ayudará en la búsqueda un millonario interpretado por Donald Sutherland.

La comedia está dirigida por Andy Tennant y el guión adaptado para la película es obra de Kenny Lonergan. Aunque la premisa de la historia es en los cayos de la Florida, partes de las grabaciones se llevaron a cabo en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.

“Ha sido muy divertido hacer este tipo de película”, dice McConaughey . “Tal vez porque no es difícil interpretar a un hombre con el cual mi personalidad se asemeja tanto. Me encanta la aventura, poder viajar, y eso es lo mejor que mi profesión me puede dar”, dice el actor, que será padre este verano fruto de su noviazgo con la modelo brasileña Camila Alves.

“Espero que mi hijo herede ese espíritu soñador que he tenido”, comenta con algo de orgullo por el hijo que está por venir. Algo que parece suceder también en la película, en la que la química con Kate Hudson es evidente también en la pantalla.

“Trabajar con ella es todo un placer, siempre hemos tenido esa gran amistad que hace que parezcamos más bien hermanos en muchas ocasiones”, comenta sobre su coprotagonista. “En verdad nuestros papeles, se pudiera decir que son como la extensión del trabajo que hicimos por primera vez con ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’. Ha sido una experiencia magnífica”, agregó el actor.

When they divorce, they find important signs of what could the biggest treasure of the many they tried to find. A millionaire, played by Donald Sutherland, helps them on their search. The comedy is directed by Andy Tennant and the script was adapted for the big screen from a novel by Kenny Lonergan. Although the premise of the story takes place off the Florida Keys, some parts were filmed in Australia and New Zealand. “It has been so much fun making this kind of film,” says McConaughey. “Perhaps because it’s not that hard to play a man whose personality resembles mine so much. I love adventure, traveling, and that’s the best thing that my profession could give me,” said the actor who will become a father this summer with his Brazilian model girlfriend Camila Alves. “I hope that my son inherits the dreamer’s spirit that I have had,” he comments with a bit of joy for the son he awaits. Something else that is apparent in the film, in which the chemistry between him and Hudson is evident throughout the film. “Working with her is such a pleasure, we have always had such a great friendship that makes it seem more like we are siblings,” he comments about his co-star. “In reality these characters are just an extension of the ones we played in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” he added.
