uno en México

Este
año el cantante Pedro Fernández
celebra 30 años de trayectoria en música
y películas. This year singer Pedro Fernandez
celebrates his 30-year-long career in music
and film.

04/18/08. Es difícil
de creer que a los 38 años Pedro Fernández
tenga una trayectoria que abarca 30 años. Esta
incluye 36 discos y 25 películas.
Lo vimos por primera vez en la pantalla grande en la
cinta “La niña de la mochila azul”
y fue entonces cuando lanzó su primer disco.
El próximo martes Fernández lanzará
su disco número 37 que será titulado “Dime
mi amor”, un disco que él dice es muy especial
para él porque 2008 marca el trigésimo
aniversario de su carrera en música y cine. El
primer sencillo del disco, “Amiga por favor”,
es número uno en la lista de éxitos en
México. El disco también incluye un dúo
con el cantante español David Bisbal titulado
“Sana mi herida”.
Excélsior tuvo una entrevista telefónica
con Fernández para platicar de su próximo
álbum y otros aspectos de su carrera.

¿Qué esperas para los Estados Unidos?
Por lo menos, estar número uno allá también.
Si dios quiere, el público nos va a apoyar lo
mismo que el público nos apoyó en México.
La verdad es que este disco es un disco bueno, que lo
hicimos con mucho cariño, por supuesto como todos
los discos.
¿Cómo de especial es este disco para celebrar
30 años de trayectoria?
Es muy especial. Es un disco importante para nosotros
porque hemos cuidado muchísimo el repertorio.
Es un repertorio padrísimo y tuvimos la oportunidad
de incluir un poquito de todo, como ya es costumbre
en mis discos.
¿Por qué elegiste trabajar con David Bisbal?
Mira primero porque somos amigos. Segundo porque en
algún momento que nos encontramos como hace un
año y meses estuvimos tomando café en
un hotel y durante la plática, manifestó
las ganas de que en algún momento hiciéramos
algo juntos.
El título del disco es “Dime mi amor”.
¿Qué quieres que te diga el amor?
Lo que quiera. Yo creo que cuando le pedimos de esa
manera al amor que te diga algo, estás pidiendo
que te diga lo que sea. El amor se encuentra en tu vida
y tu carrera. Representa las cosas que son más
importantes para ti.
¿Qué puede esperar el público para
el resto del año?
Tengo la promoción del disco, después
vamos a trabajar en un disco especial que se va a lanzar
el próximo año. Ojalá podamos concretar
un proyecto que me acaba de llegar que me dará
la oportunidad de regresar a la pantalla grande.

to believe that at 38 years old Pedro
Fernandez has had a career that spans
30 years that includes 36 albums and 25
films. We first saw him on the big screen
in the film “La niña de la
mochila azúl” and it was
then that he released his first album.
As of Tuesday, Fernandez will have released
his 37th album titled “Dime mi amor,”
an album he says is very special to him
because 2008 marks the 30th year of his
career in music and film. The first single
released from the album, “Amiga
por favor,” is number one in Mexico’s
music charts. The album also includes
a duet with Spanish singer David Bisbal
titled “Sana mi herida.”
Excelsior had a telephone interview with
the singer to talk about his upcoming
album and the other aspects of his career.
The debut single is number one in Mexico,
what do you hope for the United States?
At the very least, be number one there
as well. God willing the public will support
us the same as it did in Mexico. The truth
is that this is a good album that we have
made with a lot of affection, which is
the same as all my other albums.
How special is this album that is being
released when you celebrate your 30-year-old
career?
It’s very special. It’s an
important album for us because we chose
the tracks for the album with a lot of
care. It’s a good collection of
songs and we were able to include a little
bit of everything, such as we do with
every album.
Why did you choose to work with David
Bisbal?
First, because we are friends. Second,
because it was during a talk we had at
a hotel, where we ran into each other
about a year and some months ago, that
we expressed the interest in wanting to
work together on a project at some point.
The title of the album is “Dime
mi amor.” What is it that you want
love to tell you?
Whatever it wants. I think when you ask
love to tell you something, you are asking
it to tell you whatever it wants. Love
is found in your life and your career.
It represents the things that are important
to you.
What’s in store for 2008?
I have the promotional tour for this album,
afterwards we are going to work on a special
album that will be released next year.
Hopefully we can solidify a project that
was just pitched to me that will hopefully
give me the opportunity to return to the
big screen.
