Cuando los besos son un sueño
La película “My
Blueberry Nights” no es la típica historia
de amor que se encuentra en la pantalla grande

Norah
Jones, Jude Law y Rachel Weiz son los protagonistas
de "My Blueberry Nights", una historia

04/11/08. Aunque uno puede
ver muchas historias de amor en el cine, en “My
Blueberry Nights” hay algo diferente en este romance
que sucede en varios caminos que conducen a Nueva York.
Su director, Wong Kar Wai dice que esta película
“es la historia de una mujer que toma el camino
largo en lugar del corto para encontrarse con el hombre
que ama”. Pero no es solo por antojo, sino que
es una necesidad, y eso hace que nos empuje a ser partícipes
del viaje de Lizzie. Un viaje no sólo por las
carreteras y pequeñas ciudades que rodean al
personaje, sino un viaje que siempre busca algo más.
Ella dice que lo único que quiere es comprarse
un carro y mientras va ahorrando instantes de la vida
misma, conoce a otros personajes con sus propios problemas.
Allí está Arnie, un hombre que se sienta
en la barra a tomar unos tragos. Está su esposa
Sue Lynne y la historia de amor fallida que hay entre
ellos. Un poco más lejos en el viaje está
Leslie, siempre entre el riesgo y la desconfianza. Y
observando –entre la ingenuidad y la sabiduría-
está Lizzie, que se enamora en una instancia
diferente de Jeremy (Jude Law).
La cantante Norah Jones, que pasa la prueba al interpretar
este papel dramático en cine, encarna a su personaje
con notable naturalidad. David Strathairn construye
un personaje conmovedor (un policía) que logra
ponernos de su lado, el de su desespero. Rachel Weisz
aparece más hermosa que nunca como aquella mujer
que en principio culpamos pero muy pronto se deja conocer
y Natalie Portman muestra otro nivel más de sensualidad
entre la desconfianza, el engaño y la fortaleza.
Ninguno decepciona, ni siquiera el persistente Jeremy
de Jude Law.
Todo forma parte de un gran camino que cubre el proceso
de conocer diferentes personas hasta terminar con ese
beso que parece improbable en un lugar como Nueva York,
en donde cada noche comienza una historia de amores
imposibles y seres con capacidad de dar mucho amor.

Nights” isn’t a typical love story
that you find on the big screen

we can see a lot of love stories in theaters,
there is something different in this romance
that occurs in different places and all
of them lead to New York in “My
Blueberry Nights.”
Its director, Wong Kar Wai says that this
film “it’s a story about a
woman who takes the long road instead
of the short road to find the man she
loves.” But this isn’t a craving,
this is a necessity for her and that’s
what pushes us to participate in Lizzie’s
journey. It’s a journey not only
through the highways and small cities
that surround the character, but a journey
that always looks for something more.
She says that the only thing she wants
is to buy herself a car and while she
savors moments of her own life she meets
people with their own problems. There
is Arnie, a man who sits at a bar and
drinks, his wife Sue Lynne and their story
of the failed love between them. A little
bit further in the journey is Leslie,
who is always between risk and mistrust.
And observing – between the naivety
and wisdom – is Lizzie, who falls
in love, at a different point of the journey,
with Jeremy (Jude Law).
Singer Norah Jones, who passes the test
in playing a dramatic role, embodies her
character with a notable naturality. David
Strathairn constructs a moving character
(a police officer) who manages to put
us on his side, on the side of his frustration.
Rachel Weisz appears more beautiful than
ever as that woman whom we first blame
but who quickly allows us to get to know
her. Natalie Portman shows us another
side of her that is between sensual and
distrust, fraud and fortitude. None disappoint,
not even Jude Law’s persistent Jeremy.
All of this is part of a great journey
that covers the process of meeting different
people up until that kiss that seems unlikely
in a place like New York, where a story
of impossible love and humans with the
capacity to give great love begins every
night. |
